It's simple! Just SMS "REG" to 50007, and you should receive a SMS with a link. From this link, you can download Mobilink CellSecure, follow the simple installation process and get done! (Note: you must be using a Mobilink SIM to register for Mobilink CellSecure, and you must have GPRS Activated in order to view the page & download the client. You can call Mobilink at 111 to find out how to activate GPRS)
After downloading Mobilink CellSecure, simply follow the installation process, you will be prompted to input a PIN and a Buddy Number. After which, your handset and data are protected for as long as you keep your account going.
Your username is your phone number; remember that your username includes your country code. For Mobilink users, this means that your username is in this form --- 92xxxxxxxxxx. Your PIN is the same for your mobile application and the website access - it is the 6-digit number you initially set as PIN when you first activated CellSecure. If you skipped the step initially, the default is 123456.
We do not allow installation of Mobilink CellSecure on the memory card. The Installation will go into your default directory on the handset drive.
Right now we do not support multiple handsets on one account, but you can always sign up for a new account for each of your handset.
Yes, you can! Simply put your Mobilink SIM into your new handset and send "REG" to 50007, and follow the same steps to download and install Mobilink CellSecure. You will be prompted for your PIN, after which your account will automatically be migrated to the new phone. Remember to state that you are NOT a new user during set up, once you change handset, your old handset will no longer be protected by Mobilink CellSecure.
As long as your new number is a Mobilink number, you can change your phone number as you wish. Simply insert your new SIM into your handset, and SMS "MOB " to 50007, and your account will be ported. Please remember that your username will change to the new number accordingly.
Mobilink CellSecure is supported on these platforms: Series 60 II and III Edition; Windows Mobile 5, 6 and 6.1. To see whether a particular model is supported, hop on to http://mobilink.wavesecure.com/phones.aspx to check it out.
Only a little bit. Our observational data shows that it drains the battery around 3% faster for most normal usages.
Yes, you can. Mobilink CellSecure offers you a range of customizable settings. For instance, you can configure the setting to automatically lock whenever the SIM card is replaced (because this would most likely imply the handset is stolen). However, if you have more than one SIM that you use often, you can add additional Safe SIMs that will not trigger the locking. Mobilink CellSecure also enables you to back up different type of data the way you want it. For example, you can set it to automatically back up your crucial data such as contacts and messages.
Mobilink CellSecure currently does not provide security for your SIM. If you lost both your phone and your SIM, you can use CellSecure to protect your phone, and call Mobilink to disable the SIM.
If you choose this option, your handset will automatically be locked when the SIM card is changed to an "unsafe" SIM.
It's a security feature that makes sure that if the handset cannot send out SMS, it automatically locks. This is to protect your privacy at all times. A new pre-paid SIM needs to be activated before an SMS can be sent, hence the locking. Just enter the PIN as normal and activate the SIM and everything should work out fine.
Mobilink CellSecure's lock is a much more intelligent lock then the built-in lock. First of all, it allows you to remote control your phone anytime. Secondly, it enables you to show a message on the device to urge the person to return the phone to you, as well as enable you to call in to talk to the person. In addition, it also provides an acknowledgement to confirm whether your phone has been/has not been locked, so you will have the peace of mind to know that your phone is really protected. Besides, it also looks prettier.
You can choose to call the person who took your handset, give him a surprise and advise him to return the handset back to you, or, say, file a report with the police. There really are many things you can do with Mobilink CellSecure, just use your creativity!
Mobilink CellSecure helps you track down every detail of the activities in your handset. You can easily track any new SIM cards inserted into your handset by visiting the Track page. You can also use the backup feature to track down all the SMS sent/received, incoming/outgoing phone calls, etc. This can help you keep a record of your own usage, or track down the thief's identity in case of theft.
The current version of Mobilink CellSecure does not track the geographical location of your handset, although it is something that we are working on for the future. Tracking enables you to view the number of the new inserted SIM card and can then contact the person and persuade him/her to return your handset. You can also track usage like SMS sent/received or phone calls made, and may report this to police as evidence.
Backup: Phone contacts, SMS, Call Logs, Calendar Items Upload: Photos, Videos Restore: Contacts, SMS, Calendar Items Wipe: Contacts, SMS, Email, Calendar Items, Photos, Videos and Memory Card
Backup can be done in three ways: (1) Auto Backup: Go to the Mobilink CellSecure application located on your handset to set this option on. Select and Enter the "Backup Now" Function. In the options menu, you will be able to select auto backup. You have a choice as to the interval and frequency of auto backup. Only new data will be backed up, so you do not have to worry about excessive GPRS usage (2) Manual Web Backup: Go to the web portal, log in with your username and PIN, and go the Backup Section. You may manually select the data items you wish to backup. (3) Device Backup: Go to the Mobilink CellSecure application located on your handset to do a Manual Backup. Select and Enter the "Backup Now" Function. You will be presented with a list of items to backup; Select the data items you wish to backup, and back it up using the command from the options menu.
There are no extra charges for using Mobilink CellSecure to backup or restore your data. However, depending on your data plan, you may incur additional data (GPRS) charges.
All of the servers and communications are secured to the highest standards, using technologies equivalent to the banks or credit card companies. Mobilink CellSecure (also known as WaveSecure previously) was initially developed for Police and Military use, so it has all the necessary encryption systems and communication security systems that ensures no one can view the private content of users, not even our staff. Mobilink CellSecure is also one of the leading mobile security products adopted and trusted by millions of users, there are zero reported cases of any loss in data privacy and integrity. And of course, at the end it is completely your choice – no data will be uploaded at all unless you choose to upload your data, if you still have concerns, you can simply choose to not upload any data at all and still enjoy the other security features.
That's an interesting question. Yes we do have to use a data connection to backup and restore your data; that is completely in your control on when and how it happens, or not at all. There may also be very minimal data usages for your phone to inform server on status such as whether the phone is locked. Please refer to Mobilink as to what are the data usages for your mobile line.
General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a data service for your handset. Basically it allows you to use the internet, send out MMS, or other activities that require the usage of data transfer on your handset.
Newer handsets should have GPRS configured access points. Please call Mobilink hotline to help you set it up.
Of course, it's our pleasure. Just SMS 50007 with the following: 1. To lock your phone: "Lock <Username> <PIN>" 2. To lock your phone with a message: "Lock <Username> <PIN> <message>" 3. To wipe out the data on your phone: "Wipe <Username> <PIN>" 4. To change SIM: Use your new SIM and send "MOB <OLD Username(mobile number)> <PIN>" 5. To get Mobilink CellSecure: "REG"
